Insurance Continuing Education (CE) Credit
Convenient and Low-Cost CE Credit!
The Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS®)
continuing education (CE) program is a convenient way to obtain state insurance
CE credit while gaining meaningful knowledge that will help you sell, service,
or buy insurance for contractors. You can take a CRIS CE course at any time
on any computer connected to the Internet. The CRIS CE courses are self-paced
and very affordable.
Approved for Insurance CE Credit in All 50 States!
The CRIS program gives insurance agents and brokers a unique opportunity
to simultaneously obtain both mandatory state insurance continuing education
(CE) credit and a certification attesting to their knowledge of the insurance
needs of this important industry. And the cost for all five core courses
is less than the admission fee to many continuing education seminars! All
five core CRIS courses, the fundamentals course, and most of the reaccreditation
courses have been approved for CE credit in all 50 states. Other courses
will be filed as they are introduced. The amount of insurance CE credit
provided ranges between 4 and 12 hours, depending on the course and
state. To learn how much credit is available in your state, simply go to
the Course Catalog in the CRIS Learning
Center and choose the course(s) you are interested in taking, then select
the state for which you want insurance CE credit. The available credit hours
for that state will be displayed on your screen.
Credit in Other Insurance Industry Programs
Completing CRIS courses (or the entire certification) qualifies
for credit under two other programs at this time and we are working towards
having CRIS recognized by some others. Completing a CRIS course counts towards
the CPCU Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program. Simply record
the completed CRIS courses on the CPD qualifier application to receive credit
in that program. Obtaining the CRIS certification also satisfies the requirement
of completing a non-NAIW educational program/designation to earn the Certified
Professional Insurance Woman/Man (CPIW/M) designation from the National
Association of Insurance Women (NAIW).
