CRIS®Designees to Receive 15% Discount off IRMI Construction
Risk Conference Fees
IRMI is pleased to announce that current holders of the Construction Risk and Insurance
Specialist (CRIS) certification will qualify for a 15% discount off the applicable
registration fee for the 30th IRMI Construction Risk Conference. The cost of the
five CRIS courses is so low that this discount nearly funds the entire cost of obtaining
the CRIS certification! To qualify, you must be a current holder of the certification
at the time you register for the Conference (i.e., you must have met the reaccreditation
requirement if you have held the certification for more than 24 months).
If you are not already a CRIS certification holder and sell, buy, underwrite or
advise on insurance programs for contractors, consider obtaining the certification
and attending this year’s IRMI Conference. If you do this, you will end the year
with vastly expanded construction risk and insurance expertise, a recognized and
respected industry certification, and a valuable network of construction risk and
insurance professionals.
The 30th
IRMI Construction Risk Conference will be held in Orlando on November 14
– 18.
Hear what your peers say about the Conference, and follow the Conference on Twitter.
The CRIS® Certification Establishes Credibility and
Dedication
The Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) continuing education (CE)
program was developed by IRMI to make it much
easier for insurance agents, brokers, CSRs, and in-house risk managers or insurance
buyers to gain specialized expertise in construction insurance and risk management.
Obtaining the CRIS certification will increase the competence, confidence, and credibility
of insurance professionals who sell or underwrite insurance for contractors. A contractor
who buys insurance from a CRIS designee will know he or she is dealing with someone
who is committed to the construction industry. Construction insurance buyers who
obtain the certification will have the knowledge to make wiser insurance and risk
management decisions for their employers. Join the CRIS LinkedIn group.

The CRIS® Curriculum and the Continuing Education
Requirement
The core curriculum is comprised of five basic-to intermediate-level insurance and
risk management continuing education courses directly focused on the unique needs
of construction projects and contractors. Completing the core curriculum qualifies
an individual to use the CRIS certification for 24 months. To maintain the certification,
the CRIS certification-holder must complete only 7 hours of CRIS CE credit during
the initial 24 months and every 12 months thereafter. This can be satisfied through
just one additional online CE course or by attending approved seminars and conferences.
CRIS® Classroom Courses
A number of associations and other organizations are licensed to offer classroom
versions of the CRIS core courses. Each course is structured as a 1-day program.
You obtain insurance CE credit from the sponsoring organization. Then you sign into
the CRIS Learning Center at your convenience to take the exam for that course.
